Pictured: Harris Diagram of Direct Motif Overlaps at Saucito Rock, California

Archaeology work includes excavations and detailed descriptions of culture historic and environmental backgrounds, research questions, fieldwork and laboratory methods, field excavation results, laboratory identification results, and syntheses. Stratum adds graphics to reports, including maps, site and feature drawings, excavation plan and profile drawings, radiocarbon date sequences, battleship curves, statistical graphs, artifact drawings, and overall synthesis diagrams.

Rock art work includes mapping, photography, tracing, condition assessment, graffiti removal,  collection of samples for physical analysis and dating, boardwalk designs, interpretation and presentation, and writing of site management plans. Rock art motifs and associated natural layers are interpreted like archaeological deposits; complicated direct overlaps are recorded in Harris Diagram formats.
